<p>Mental health is a significant public health concern, yet limited public awareness hinders its early recognition, management, and prevention. Since digital technology has expanded, efforts have been made to improve mental health literacy (MHL), particularly by utilizing emerging technological advances, including artificial intelligence. This scoping review presents evidence on the different types of digitalized MHL interventions and their potential to improve MHL across diverse populations. The Web of Sciences, PsycINFO, Embase, and MEDLINE databases were assessed from the earliest available evidence to 15 October 2024. The PRISMA-ScR (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews) guideline was followed, and the protocol was registered on the Open Science Framework (OSF) on the 7th of October 2024. The review included thirty (30) publications from sixteen (16) countries that cover more than 8,550 research subjects. The different types of digital MHL interventions can be divided into those with non-AI elements and AI elements. The different digitalized MHL interventions are both versatile and show potential in improving proximal and distal MHL outcomes. AI-based tools, primarily chatbot/conversational agents, were commonly used for personalization and engagement, and non-AI methods provided cost-effective, accessible solutions. In order to implement effective and inclusive global mental health strategies, it is essential to balance technological innovation, participatory research designs and user accessibility.</p>
