Validating entrepreneurial passion scale in Indonesian music career context

Entrepreneurship is viewed as a strategy for prolonged careers of musicians’ lives. To maintain this type of independent career, musicians need to be conscious of their passion of entrepreneurship. The current research used the concept of entrepreneurial passion and aimed to validate the Indonesian version of the Entrepreneurial Passion Scale (EPS) in order to identify passion of Indonesian musicians in the aspect of professional artistic career. This study measured the concepts of passion and career adaptability in a process incorporating 203 Indonesian musicians to provide evidence of the internal structure and validity of the adapted EPS. The findings demonstrated that Indonesian musicians showed passion towards the music business domains. Moreover, the adapted scale is considered applicable and relevant instrument for explaining entrepreneurial passion in the context of musicians. This study also pointed out that entrepreneurial passion is a key attribute motivating Indonesian musicians to construct their own careers.
