<p>The Würzburg Treatment Need Index was first presented in 2016. The concept was designed to provide recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of molar incisor hypomineralization (MIH). In particular, numerous recommendations regarding treatment have been published in recent years; thus, the authors saw the need for an update. The main changes are therefore presented in the context of a current literature review. The changes in the treatment recommendations for MIH mainly relate to sealants (now noninvasive treatment), short-term temporary treatment (now including silver diamine fluoride [SDF] therapy), and long-term temporary treatment (now including the Hall technique or prefabricated zirconium crowns). In this context, treatment recommendations for anterior and posterior teeth are considered separately. Although the article presents the extended range of treatment options, clinical evidence remains limited.</p>
