<p>Despite major advances in oral health prevention, there is still a significant need for action in Germany. In caries prevention, this particularly affects the primary teeth. The effectiveness of preventive measures for different target groups (collective, group, individual) is well documented. With regard to the efficiency and accessibility of social groups, collective and group prophylaxis should be given priority over individual prophylaxis.</p>
