摘要

The worldwide occurrence of the condition of molar incisor hypomineralization (MIH) is becoming increasingly important in dental practice. In addition to the clinical symptoms, MIH can also have a considerable impact on the oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) of those affected. Pain, esthetic impairments, and restrictions in food intake can have a strong negative impact on well-being and social life. This article provides a brief insight into the field of quality of life research and then uses selected studies to highlight the influence of MIH on OHRQoL in affected children.
