Digitale Kinderzahnmedizin

While digital technologies are well established in adult dentistry, they are relatively new to paediatric dentistry. Intraoral scanners, computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) milling machines, and three-dimensional (3D) printers are the current digital technologies for paediatric dentistry, but home oral hygiene applications (apps) are also available for children and parents. The purpose of this article is to provide an overview of digital paediatric dentistry by highlighting the aspects of diagnosis, patient information, treatment, and home oral hygiene, and to provide case studies to illustrate where digital paediatric dentistry can already be effectively used in everyday practice.
