Gruppenprophylaxe - ein wesentlicher Beitrag zur Zahn- und Mundgesundheit von Kindern und Jugendlichen
摘要
With its health-promoting measures in daycare centers and schools, group prophylaxis makes an important contribution to the dental and oral health of children and adolescents and, thus, also to their general health. Due to its almost complete coverage, group prophylaxis is the prevention service with the widest reach, which also reaches disadvantaged children and young people, who rarely visit a dental practice for a variety of reasons. In combination with the other preventive measures carried out in dental practices, such as early check-ups or individual prophylaxis for children and adolescents, group prophylaxis gives children and adolescents the opportunity to achieve lifelong oral health. The earlier preventive measures are started, the better the prevention of tooth decay. Thus, the inclusion of children under the age of 3 years in group prophylaxis measures is particularly important. In addition, close cooperation between dentistry, paediatrics and adolescent medicine, gynecology and obstetrics as well as midwives is necessary.
