„Ich finde Zahnarzt lustig“ - ein Plädoyer für die Lachgasbehandlung in der Kinderzahnmedizin
摘要
Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) sedation enables effective pain and anxiety management for all age groups while maintaining consciousness and competent protective reflexes. In America it has been established in dentistry since the 1960s, and in Scandinavian and Anglo-Saxon countries this patient-friendly and safe treatment is also offered by the majority of all dental practices. More recently, the question has increasingly arisen as to whether well-guided awake treatments—with the help of nitrous oxide analgesia—are an effective alternative that could help to alleviate the currently difficult care situation in paediatric dental anesthesia in Germany.
