摘要

Evaluating faculty members’ educational skills remains a persistent challenge for medical educational leaders, despite the central role that meaningful feedback plays in identifying strengths, addressing gaps, and guiding faculty development. Historically, the absence of a universally accepted assessment framework—and variability in institutional resources and evaluators—has limited the consistency of these evaluations. This editorial examines the article “Addressing the Gap in Assessment of Faculty Educators: Pilot Implementation of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Clinician Educator Milestones,” in which Johnston and colleagues explore the feasibility of using the Clinician Educator Milestones—developed in 2022 by the ACGME in collaboration with national medical education organizations—by Vice Chairs of Education to assess faculty performance and provide structured, developmental feedback.
