Establishing a simulation-enhanced interprofessional education (Sim-IPE) program at your institution

Creating and delivering interprofessional education (IPE) is challenging. Multiple issues including sociological, and hierarchical can influence the efficacy of these endeavors. Simulation is an effective active learning strategy to deliver IPE but the prospect of developing and propagating a local Simulation-enhanced IPE or Sim-IPE program can be daunting. This Opinion article details strategies to combat the challenges in building a Sim-IPE program, drawing on the work of Kotter and Rogers to give local educators a framework by which to navigate these.
