<p>The aim of the survey of the heads or employees of all anesthesiology departments in Austria was to determine the actual postpandemic care status of Austrian pain clinics in 2022 and to show changes in recent years. At the time of the survey (2022/2023), 51&#xa0;pain clinics were operational, but only seven of them operated full-time. Compared to 2014, this represents a loss of 10&#xa0;full-time outpatient pain clinics. Thus, there is a&#xa0;discrepancy between the recommendation of the Austrian Pain Society (ÖSG) and the reality of care for patients with chronic pain in Austria.</p>
