Der Vagusnerv und die Stimulation seines aurikulären Astes in der Schmerztherapie
摘要
As part of multimodal pain therapy for patients with chronic pain, neuromodulation procedures are used as an effective, nondrug add-on therapy that usually has few side effects. Electrical stimulation of the auricular branch of the vagus nerve (aVNS) has been shown in the literature to be effective and safe in the treatment of chronic pain, particularly chronic back pain, myofascial pain syndrome, migraine and abdominal pain. Since January 2025, percutaneous aVNS can also be coded as an outpatient service in the LKF catalogue in Austria for the indications myalgia (myofascial pain), chronic migraine without aura, and irritable bowel syndrome (abdominal pain).
