摘要

The 2025 European Resuscitation Council (ERC) guidelines recommend a step-by-step approach to airway management during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in adults (advanced life support). This approach is based on the skills of the persons involved, the situation and the patients. The Emergency Medicine Section of the Austrian Society of Anesthesiology, Resuscitation and Intensive Care Medicine (ÖGARI) shares the scientifically based recommendations of the ERC and confirms the practical advantage of laryngeal masks over laryngeal tubes. At the same time, however, it points out that given the specific circumstances in Austria, appropriate training opportunities for emergency medical services personnel must be considered in the event of a switch from laryngeal tubes to laryngeal masks.
