Palliativmedizinische Bedürfnisse in der Notaufnahme
摘要
A study at Klagenfurt Hospital shows a massive discrepancy between the need for palliative care and what is available in emergency departments. 13.2% of all adult patients who visit an emergency department show palliative care symptoms and therefore require targeted palliative therapy management. However, only around 5% of these patients receive palliative care. The authors therefore advocate the development of suitable structures in Austria’s emergency departments in order to provide these patients with the best possible care.
