Titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles are gaining prominence for their exceptional physicochemical and biological properties making them highly valuable in biomedical and environmental applications. Their high surface area, stability, biocompatibility and photocatalytic activity support uses in drug delivery, wound healing, antimicrobial treatments and tissue engineering. When combined with biopolymers like chitosan or gelatin, TiO2 enhances mechanical strength and cell compatibility, aiding skin and bone regeneration. Stimuli-responsive TiO2 systems enable targeted drug release triggered by pH, light or temperature. Metal doping and graphene integration further improve their performance in cancer therapy and biosensing. Green synthesis methods and advanced fabrication techniques like 3D printing are driving sustainable smart device development.
