Manufacturing of Microfluidic Device Using 3D-Printing Method for Biomedical Applications
摘要
Microfluid Technology is one of the modern technologies that has been used in many engineering applications as well as biomedical, biology, and medical treatments. They have employed the special features of fluids in micro-scale and nano-litter, where the costs and time of test were important issues. A microfluid unit is a chip of silicon, glass, or elastomer that the tubes with micron-scale channels through which fluids run through these tubes. In this research, we have tried to introduce a new microchannel and a microfluidic system was produced by a 3-dimensional (3D) printer. Then, we compared in terms of important parameters of fabricating a microfluidic system using simple methods with other manufacturing microfluidic device method namely micro-milling. Our results showed that to choose the suitable method to fabricate the microfluidic devices, different parameters should be investigated, including time and cost of production, and number of samples. Therefore, Digital Light Processing (DLP) method could be suggested as the optimum method for manufacturing the microfluidic devices.
