摘要

Herein, a piezoelectric hydrogel microneedle patch has been developed for acute migraine management. The polydopamine (PDA) was firstly coated BaTiO3 nanoparticles to be acted as piezoelectric nanocomposites (PDA-BaTiO3). The as-fabricated PDA-BaTiO3 nanocomposites and rizatriptan benzoate (RB) were blended with chitosan (CS) and gelatin (Gel) to form a composite piezoelectric hydrogel microneedles (MNs) patch by a mold method. A current could be generated when the MNs patch attached on the skin under the certain pressure. The generated current could stimulate the coated composite piezoelectric hydrogel region and alleviate the pain signals transmitted by the terminal branches of the trigeminal nerve during a migraine attack. In addition, the encapsulated RB could be released after penetrating into skin tissue due to the swelling of MNs after absorbing interstitial fluid.
