Comparative Analysis of Patient Satisfaction Levels with ICRC Molding Technology and Modular Laminated Technology Transtibial Prosthesis

Prosthetics and orthotics significantly enhance mobility and quality of life for individuals with limb impairments. This study presents a comparative analysis of patient satisfaction levels with two transtibial prosthetic systems: The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Molding Technology (IMT) prosthesis and the Modular Laminated Technology (MLT) prosthesis. Both technologies are renowned for their durability, cost-effectiveness and modularity. Through a survey of 30 participants, the study examines these designs for patient contentment by scrutinizing various attributes, including comfort, functionality, durability, weight, and overall user experience. Results indicate preference for the IMT prosthesis in terms of durability (87%) and comfort (61%), while the MLT system is favored for its lightweight design (83%) and better functionality (85%). These insights highlight the need for personalized prosthetic designs to improve user satisfaction and overall quality of life.
