The role of artificial intelligence in transforming human resource management and sustainable workplace practices
摘要
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is soon likely to become part of sustainable Human Resource Management (HRM) through promoting organizational practices and alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This research assesses the potential use of AI in enhancing HRM roles such as talent acquisition, training and development, performance appraisal, and resource optimization. This approach offers substantial measurable benefits by exploring use of AI in reducing recruitment time, enhancing employee satisfaction, optimizing resources, and minimizing carbon footprint. This study synthesizes evidence from eighty-one peer-reviewed articles to examine how artificial intelligence can optimize core HRM dimensions. However, significant concerns persist regarding initial capital costs, data privacy, algorithmic biases, and resistance to change. Current literature assumes that AI could replace or reduce manpower at the right time. However, this research evaluates impact of AI in HRM to improve economic, social, environmental sustainability and growth. It also explores how AI can support and co-create decision making, improving human skills, and redesigning jobs for organizational success. The synthesis is grounded in a systematic literature review (SLR), curated through a highly rigorous screening and selection protocol for empirical attention for future research, which can focus on longitudinal and long-term sustainability. It should explore human–AI collaboration models, employee acceptability of AI-driven HR practices for balancing technological innovation and sustainable development.
