A framework for regional collaboration based on urbanization and renewable energy assessment
摘要
In order to address the challenge of uneven geographical distribution of renewable energy (RE) in Japan and enhance its utilization in some high potential regions, which is critical for achieving carbon neutrality and sustainable development, this study evaluates and classifies 89 regions in Japan based on their urbanization and RE development. Then, by using the median indicator and cluster analysis, regions were categorized into different types and specific interregional cooperation strategies were proposed based on the types of regions. The findings of the study indicate that the proposed model of cooperation is closely linked to existing policies and lead to a significant improvement in the efficiency of RE utilization.
