Smart agriculture, often termed digital agriculture, is a revolutionary strategy in contemporary agriculture that uses modern innovations, including data analytics, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and automation. This approach aims to increase agricultural production, reduce resource wastage, & promote sustainable farming methods. Smart agriculture is revolutionising conventional farming by bringing new levels of efficiency, transparency, and sustainability through the use of Blockchain and the IoT. In this paper, we explore the most recent advancements in blockchain-enabled IoT applications in agriculture, including supply chain traceability, automation, trends, challenges, and the future perspective. The integration has numerous advantages, including better data integrity, reduced fraud, better resource management, and more trust among stakeholders. However, many challenges still stand in the way of broad adoption, including high implementation costs, problems with scalability, concerns about data privacy, and energy usage. In addition, the paper discusses the current research and technical developments that are being made to address these challenges. The article outlines future directions, with an emphasis on how to fully utilise Blockchain IoT-based agriculture through cross-sector collaboration, standardisation, and analytics driven by artificial intelligence.
