Environmental degradation, climate change, and resource depletion have intensified the need for sustainable economic models, particularly in developing countries such as Bangladesh. This study investigates the role of green entrepreneurship and technological factors in promoting sustainable development in Bangladesh by integrating Sustainable Development Theory with the Technology Organization Environment framework. The research examines how green entrepreneurship awareness and practices, technological readiness, institutional and policy support, and barriers influence green entrepreneurial activities and their environmental and social impacts. Primary data were collected from 385 respondents engaged in green business or sustainability-related sectors across Bangladesh using a structured questionnaire based on a seven-point Likert scale. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling. The findings reveal that institutional and policy support and perceived barriers significantly influence green entrepreneurship, while green entrepreneurship itself has a strong positive effect on environmental and social impact, ultimately contributing to sustainable development. The results demonstrate several indirect relationships, highlighting the mediating role of green entrepreneurship and environmental impact in translating technological and institutional factors into sustainability outcomes. By embedding green entrepreneurship into the TOE framework, this research reconceptualizes the model to capture firm-level sustainability dynamics, providing theoretical contributions and actionable recommendations for policymakers and business leaders in developing economies striving to balance economic growth with environmental and social objectives. The findings offer valuable policy insights for fostering green innovation, strengthening institutional support, and advancing sustainable development.

摘要

Environmental degradation, climate change, and resource depletion have intensified the need for sustainable economic models, particularly in developing countries such as Bangladesh. In this context, green entrepreneurship has emerged as a promising pathway for balancing economic growth with environmental protection.
