摘要

Human resource skill adjustment is a process of upgrading workforce skills to match current realities in the organisation. The essence of upgrading employees’ skills is to enhance the sustainability of the organisation. Based on the contingency theory of socialisation and stakeholder theory, this study investigates the role of perceived organisational support in the relationship between human resource skill adjustment and corporate sustainability in the hospitality industry using a cross-sectional survey. Data were gathered from 600 workers of ten (10) three-star hotels in southeastern Nigeria. Result of SMARTPLS structural equation modelling indicate that perceived organisational support moderates the relationship between human resource skill adjustment and corporate sustainability. The research concludes that human resource skill adjustment enhances corporate sustainability of hospitality businesses in south-eastern Nigeria. The result would aid policymakers to formulate and implement policies on human resource skill adjustment in the hospitality industry.
