<p>Recently, there has been a substantial surge in the fascination of Sustainable Competencies (SC). Despite the increasing focus, current research remains scattered and inadequate to provide a holistic comprehension of the conceptual and empirical evolution of supply chain management across several disciplines and geographical areas. This work addresses this gap by conducting an all-encompassing analysis of the issues along with assessment of this research area. Systematic along with Bibliometric analysis was used to find the trend and evolution of the construct SC. We analysed 480 scientific publications on SC published within the last 18 years. The Scopus and ERIC database were used. The objective is to map the intellectual structure, pinpoint important players, and spot developing trends in this expanding sector. By use of prominent articles, basic research, and conceptual evolution throughout time, this study improves knowledge of the SC terrain. It also reveals topic changes and conceptual developments throughout time as well as how past investigations have affected later study paths. The study covers a geographical viewpoint in order to investigate changing dynamics of regional research. Particularly, the growing number of papers coming from the most active educational establishments. An investigation identifies two emerging patterns that demonstrate the increasing emphasis with systems thinking as a method to comprehend the evolution of sustainable competencies. Especially, the overall number of authors, books, and journals in this particular field has increased significantly. All things considered, this study advances knowledge of the evolution and present situation of SC research by providing insights for next academic projects and educational policy development.</p>
