Purpose <p>The study aimed to empirically investigate the drivers of successful entrepreneurship by examining the successful intelligence, social skills, and entrepreneurial personality as antecedents in line with value chain sustainability. Moreover, the study also aimed to investigate the moderating role of the credit facility and sustainbility such as environmental, social and governance factors. Within the sustainable value chain context, the study variables are considered to play a substantial role in driving successful entrepreneurship.</p> Methodology <p>A survey-based primary data collected through a questionnaire was obtained from 408 small and medium enterprises. For data analysis, a partial least square structural equation model (PLS-SEM) was employed by using smart PLS version 4.</p> Findings <p>The findings show that entrepreneurial personality and social skills have a significant positive association with the success of entrepreneurs. Further, credit facilities significantly moderate the relationship between entrepreneurial personality and successful intelligence. However, credit facilities have an insignificant moderating role in the relationship of successful intelligence, and social skills with successful entrepreneurship. This study findings indicated that the entrepreneur attributes make the successful enterprise that has the addition in the value chain sustainbility. Moreover, sustainbility indicators such as environmental, social and governance play a significant role in establishing the successful enterprenuership environment around the globe.</p> Practical implications <p>The results provide useful insights from a sustainable entrepreneurship perspective, offering empirical evidence that, among the antecedents of successful entrepreneurship, social skills, and entrepreneurial personality are significant. This implies that potential entrepreneurs and policymakers should place greater emphasis on these factors in determining entrepreneurship success.</p> Originality value <p>A unique study conducted to confirm the causal relationship in a developing economy that provide the addition in value chain sustainability.</p> Research type <p>Quantitative, Survey Research.</p>
