摘要

The adoption and implementation of business intelligence (BI) systems have become increasingly important to institutions due to their promise of providing in-depth and competitive insights for decision-making. A BI system is a set of tools, methods, and strategies that help organisations analyse large data sets to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities. Existing studies indicate that many organisations fail to take full advantage of BI systems. Nevertheless, no comprehensive and recent study in prior research has addressed BI adoption and its influential factors and associated challenges. Thus, this systematic literature review (SLR) aims to systematically explore and analyse current scholarly research on adopting BI, develop an integrated theoretical framework that incorporates the most critical dimensions of BI adoption within organisations, drawing on factors identified and validated in prior empirical studies, and propose a future research agenda. A comprehensive review of 68 studies published between 2015 and 2024 identified 65 potential factors influencing the successful adoption of BI. The findings highlight the research methodologies, theories, models, and key factors commonly adopted in BI system adoption studies. The review also identifies the major challenges related to the adoption of BI and offers recommendations for scholars and practitioners on addressing unexplored themes.
