Analysis of the carrying capacity in the route of the glacial lagoons of a Veiga-Ourense: an analysis from the sustainability of the territory
摘要
The study evaluates the tourist carrying capacity of the A Serpe and Ocelo glacial lagoons trail, in A Veiga (Ourense), integrating physical-ecological and management criteria, with the aim of guaranteeing the sustainability of the territory. Applying the Cifuentes methodology, a potential physical capacity of 29,000 daily visits is established, which is reduced to 21.11 after applying corrective factors (climate, accessibility, erosion, etc.) and management factors. The results show the need to incorporate systems to control the flow of tourists in sensitive areas, recommending measures to improve infrastructure, equipment and personnel. The article provides a replicable model of sustainable planning based on quantitative and qualitative data, incorporating the concept of the “Limit of Acceptable Change” as a means of reinforcing decision-making. It concludes that proactive and anticipatory management of carrying capacity is essential to preserve natural resources in the face of responsible tourism development, proposing strategies aligned with the SDGs.
