Fostering Circular Economy in Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises: Aligning with the Triple-Helix of Innovation Framework
摘要
This study aims to identify the antecedents that influence the circular economy practices, environmentally friendly technology, and innovation. Unlike previous research, this study comprehensively examines institutional factors as the primary stimuli for the circular economy practices in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Regarding data analysis procedures, 324 final data points were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling and Importance-Performance Map Analysis. The findings highlight the importance of green innovation and technology in supporting the circular economy practices of MSMEs. Also, the institutional proxies of the Triple Helix model (government, universities, and industry) demonstrate their urgency as catalysts for green innovation and technology, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of circular economy practices in MSMEs. Consequently, this study provides comprehensive insights into the circular economy practices of MSMEs in Indonesia. The institutional context from the Triple Helix of Innovation framework is used to validate the most relevant antecedents for improving circular economy practices in MSMEs.
