摘要

Purpose of Review

This review aims to highlight the therapeutic potential and diverse applications of medicinal and aromatic Plants (MAPs), emphasizing their bioactive compounds. The primary goal is to discuss their roles in traditional medicine, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and functional foods, while addressing the challenges of standardization and sustainable cultivation.

Recent Findings

Recent studies have demonstrated the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, anticancer, and neuroprotective properties of MAPs. These properties are increasingly recognized and utilized across various industries, indicating their significant potential in advancing healthcare.

Summary

MAPs are rich in bioactive compounds such as polyphenols, alkaloids, terpenoids, and flavonoids, which contribute to their health benefits. This review synthesizes peer-reviewed literature on the bioactive properties, therapeutic efficacy, and safety profiles of MAPs, and their integration into modern healthcare. It also addresses methodological challenges and proposes solutions for standardization and sustainable cultivation to ensure consistent quality and availability. The review is based on a comprehensive analysis of recent scientific studies and meta-analyses to provide a clear understanding of the current state of MAP research.
