摘要

Green finance has emerged as a modern financing tool that helps tackle the issue of climate change while promoting sustainable development. This study presents a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of green finance. The study utilized VOSviewer and the Bibliometrix R package (Biblioshiny) to map performance indicators, co-citation networks, keyword co-occurrences, and thematic trends across 5,044 documents extracted from SCOPUS for the period from 1980 to 2024. Results highlight an enhanced academic interest in the domain starting from 2010, with China making a prominent contribution. The findings highlight four key thematic clusters: economic transformation, ethical investment, sustainable development, and global resilience initiatives. The study contributes to the existing literature by linking bibliometric patterns with fiscal and monetary policy instruments, such as carbon pricing, green bonds, and central bank mandates, which remain underexplored in existing reviews. Practical implications underscore the need for policymakers to strengthen regulatory frameworks and financial incentives to scale up green investments. In contrast, academic implications point toward integrating interdisciplinary theories and expanding comparative cross-country analyses. Overall, this paper advances understanding by integrating bibliometric findings within broader policy and governance debates, offering pathways for scholars and decision-makers to leverage green finance in accelerating the transition to a sustainable economy.
