Do the adoptions of green innovations influence the sustainability performance of small and medium enterprises in Uttar Pradesh: evidence from the partial least squares-structural equation modelling approach
摘要
Green innovation is presently attracting worldwide interest due to heightened concerns among consumers, governments, and the public regarding resource depletion and environmental degradation. Small and medium companies (SMEs) are substantial contributors to industrial waste, resulting in a marked deterioration of environmental quality. This research aims to examine the determinants of green innovation uptake and its impact on the performance of SMEs in India. We obtained the necessary information for this study by polling 394 respondents from Indian SMEs. We employed the PLS-SMEs methodology to analyse the data. The implementation of green innovation adoption (GIA) is positively affected by government support (GS), green innovation strategy (GIS), market and customer factors (MC), rules and regulatory frameworks (RR), and technological factors (TF). Furthermore, external partnership and cooperation (EPC) and organisational and human (OH) characteristics adversely impact the adoption of green innovation in Indian SMEs. The acquisition of green innovation substantially influences the three dimensions of long-term performance: social, economic, and environmental. The ramifications of these findings on the development or formulation of strategic approaches for Indian SMEs are substantial.
