<p>The rise in remarriage and the formation of blended families has brought more attention to the unique and intricate dynamics between step-parents and step-children, highlighting this aspect of contemporary family life. This scoping review seeks to bring together the current literature on the various factors that influence the relationships between step-parents and step-children, taking into account different cultural, social, and legal backgrounds. The study has updated with the existing literature on the various experiences of stepparent- stepchild relationship globally, based on the two research questions, ‘What is the existing known literature on the role of family dynamics in stepfamilies?’ and ‘How do the existing literature narrate the experiences of step parent-step child relations in families?’ This review was followed by PRISMA analysis of Arksey &amp; O’Malley and the study’s findings have primarily discussed the dynamics of the stepfamily, particularly the relationship between the stepmother and stepchild, the constraints on the relationship between the stepfather and stepchild, various obstacles faced by the stepparents and the influence of familial structure on children. The results show that complicated stepfamily arrangements are frequently linked to significant everyday stresses, especially for women and children. Notably, South Asian contexts are still underrepresented in the existing literatures and which disproportionately represents Western viewpoints. However, considering the evolution of shifting family structures and the implementation of child and gender-friendly policies, more research needs to be done in the area of interventional studies in family dynamics from a global perspective. These studies need to be carried out with a variety of ethnic groups, communities, and diverse populations.</p>
