Origanum vulgare L. (Lamiaceae): status and distribution in India
摘要
During the study in different parts of Uttarakhand Himalaya, the authors collected three different subspecies of Origanum vulgare L. viz., O. vulgare subsp. viridulum (Martrin-Donos) Nyman, O. vulgare subsp. hirtum (Link) A. Terracc. and O. vulgare subsp. vulgare. After examination of specimens it is observed that O. vulgare subsp. hirtum is a new plant record for Indian flora, while O. vulgare subsp. viridulum was recollected from India after the collections of R. Blinkworth, Patrick Gerard and F.L. Splittgerber in nineteenth century. The systematic enumeration, identification keys and description along with photo Figs. 2, 3 and 4 are given for its easy identification.
