Enhancing tourism website usability via automated web parsing and user feedback analytics

Usability is a crucial factor influencing user engagement on tourism websites; nonetheless, numerous platforms still experience issues with convoluted navigation, inadequate accessibility, and uneven design frameworks. This research addresses these issues by presenting an advanced analytical framework—Website Usability Assessment using HTML Parsing (WUAHP)—that combines automated web parsing with sophisticated user feedback analytics. Employing HTTP requests and Beautiful Soup, the system analyses HTML structures to extract essential usability metrics, while fuzzy-based aggregation of both structured and unstructured user feedback guarantees a comprehensive evaluation that reconciles machine accuracy with human insight. An extensive assessment of ten tourism websites (TW1–TW10) indicated usability scores between 57% and 83%, with the enhanced framework producing quantifiable improvements in task success rate, navigation efficiency, and overall satisfaction. The findings indicate that WUAHP effectively identifies and quantifies usability deficiencies while offering practical recommendations for improvement. This method enables tourist platforms to convert user experience into a data-driven, perpetually optimized process, enhancing both accessibility and digital competitiveness.
