<p>The aim of this study is to provide a comprehensive review of the past decade's published work on geochronological and geochemical attributes of the granite-gneiss and granitoids present in the Central Indian Tectonic Zone (CITZ). This investigation seeks to synthesize recent advancements in the field, providing a cohesive understanding of the geological process involved during the genesis of the studied rocks. In this study, we collate the recent findings and propose that the I-type, H-type and A-type granite-gneiss and granitoid plutons occurring in the CITZ are predominantly derived from the partial melting of the lower continental crust (same source) and linked their emplacement with the dispersal of the Columbia supercontinent.</p>
