This study is a review article of Chester and Jo (2022), Heterodox Economics: Legacy & Prospects, Komlos (2023), Foundations of Real World Economics: What Every Economics Student Needs to Know (third edition), and Beker (2023), Economic Theory for the Real World. They are books recently published on heterodox economics. The review follows three guidelines addressing common grounds or differences between the books. The guidelines are: (1) the meaning of mainstream and heterodox economics, (2) the ideological content of economics approaches, and (3) a possible future of the heterodoxy. The review concludes that there is no convergence between the understanding of what mainstream and heterodoxy are. The main difference relies on behavioral economics that can be considered mainstream or heterodoxy according to the book. Chester and Jo (2022), Komlos (2023), and Beker (2023) point out that there is ideological content in economics approach as in any other social science. It is not possible to comprehend that the reviewed books are pointing out an understandable picture regarding the future of heterodox economics.
