摘要

A 3:1:1 asymmetric cascade H-bridge can produce a better voltage with fewer cascaded cells. However, the traditional modulation strategy suffers from current backflow and unbalanced power output between cells. Based on this, a new modulation strategy combined with pulse reconstruction is proposed by analyzing the relationship between the switching state of each H-bridge and the output level of the inverter. While the new modulation strategy addresses the problem of current backflow, the problems of the power unbalance between cells and the unreasonable distribution of switch pipe losses remain. Thus, the carriers in the new modulation strategy are modified to improve the scheme. The improved new modulation strategy solves the current backflow problem, ensures a reasonable distribution of the switch losses and achieves power self-balancing between the low-voltage cells. Finally, the new modulation strategy offers a universal approach. The accuracy of the new modulation strategy and its improved scheme are verified through simulations and experiments.
