<p>In this paper, we present a systematic review of the conceptualizations of and interconnections among the ideas of borders, margins, boundaries, and bordering processes within interdisciplinary literature, with particular attention to psychology. Adhering to PRISMA guidelines, we identified 13 relevant papers from the Scopus and Web of Science databases based on predefined criteria. We delineated the various research fields wherein the terms border, boundary, margin, and bordering process are employed, examining their conceptualizations and interconnections. We then highlighted the theoretical frameworks, methods, and outcomes utilized in studies incorporating these concepts. Our findings reveal a notable gap in psychological literature wherein these terms are not concurrently addressed. However, this gap presents an opportunity to advance our understanding by more cohesively integrating and applying these concepts within psychology.</p>
