<p>A narrative can be understood as a story being told, involving the active participation of an interpreter or addressee mediated by culturally shared signs. Schütze’s Biographical Method is one way narratives can be used in research. It includes a data construction technique, Narrative Interviewing, and an analytical technique, Narrative Analysis. Narrative Analysis was developed in the field of Sociology to review data from narrative interviews. This article intends to present, contextualize, and discuss the use of this technique in qualitative research in Developmental Psychology. It advocates the pertinence of using this technique in this field despite the methodological challenges posed. This technique allows a systematic and detailed exploration of narrative data, and provides important biographical clues to understand personal experiences. Finally, it presents a proposal for adapting Narrative Analysis within the field of research in Developmental Psychology. This proposal was based on the Semiotic Cultural Psychology’s view on human development.</p>
