摘要

The present study examines the associations between identifying as a global citizen, theory of planned behavior, and intentions to support social justice initiatives. Participants completed measures regarding their perception of feeling connected to the world as a whole, social justice attitudes, subjective norms of supporting social justice initiatives, perceived behavioral control of social justice intentions, and intentions to engage in behaviors regarding those initiatives. The results revealed a positive relationship between identifying as a global citizen and intention to engage in social justice activities. Furthermore, the association was mediated through theory of planned behavior dimensions: social justice attitudes, subjective norms of supporting social justice initiatives, perceived behavioral control of social justice intentions. The results support an association between identifying as a global citizen and theory of planned behavior for predicting social justice behavioral intentions.
