Optimized Virtual Machine Consolidation for Energy Efficiency and SLA Compliance in Sensor-Based Cloud Computing
摘要
Cloud computing is a major component of the modern computing infrastructure, but the reliance has resulted in high energy consumption issues in data centre centres. The presented virtual machine consolidation solution pioneers the new path of the biggest energy efficiency with no violation of specifications related to Service Level Agreement. Our system incorporates smart workload regulation, VM placement protocol and power savings approaches to realize power consumption and operation cost saving. The performance of our model is justified using experimental data since it saves 30% of energy consumed and also saves 25% of VM migrations, and enhances the performance of the system. The applied strategic model will reduce the Service Level Agreement breaches to improve service reliability. The achieved results are useful in ensuring environmentally friendly cloud computing as they help in the optimization of resources, improved performance, as well as minimized environmental impact.
