A Review on Diagnostic Imaging Applications of Thermography in Arthritis
摘要
Thermal medical imaging has started a new era in the field of medical imaging. In a few years, thermal images showed applications as an aid to state-of-the-art methodologies. The key advantage of Thermal image is- it is invasive, non-radiating, non-ionizing. During clinical investigation of Arthritis, clinicians observe inflammation, swelling, and restrictions of movements. To assess the inflammation they rely on the surface temperature. Hence, there is a high risk of manual error which leads to inaccuracy in diagnosis of the diseases. Within this extensive review of existing literature, we assess the characteristics employed in the most advanced endeavors. The particulars of openly accessible datasets are showcased. The manuscript at the end compared the proposed algorithms and analyzed the gap of the research works on thermal medical imaging in Arthritis diagnosis.
