<p>The vertical and longitudinal redundancy check is a two-dimensional parity-check method of detecting errors in data transmission. We present some groundworks for the mathematical analyses of the reliability and error bursts in the vertical and longitudinal redundancy parity-check setting modeled with combinatorial constraints in two-dimensional binary matrices.</p>
