摘要

This study presents a slotted compact microstrip antenna with reconfigurable feature to provide either a single, dual or triple band notch function. The antenna is specifically developed for applications that require a large frequency range, known as ultra-wideband (UWB) applications. The suggested antenna achieves an ultra-wideband (UWB) characteristic by exciting an extra resonance through the etching of two notches (symmetrical)into the feed-line. By creating three slots on the radiating patch and inserting two PIN diodes into these slots, the antenna’s performance is enhanced with the ability to switch between single, dual and triple band notch performances. By manipulating the biasing states of these PIN diodes, the presented antenna can demonstrate four distinct capabilities in terms of UWB coverage. The simulated as well as measured results of the antenna demonstrate a high level of agreement across all performance metrics. The antenna design has a compact size of 20 × 20 mm2. The measured results indicate that the manufactured antenna exhibits favourable radiation characteristics in the ultra-wideband (UWB) frequency range. Additionally, it possesses switchable band notch capabilities at frequencies of 3.12–3.75 GHz, 4.4–4.9 GHz, and 6.5–8.5 GHz. These functions allow for the elimination of interference from the UWB frequency band with WiMAX, C-band, and WLAN systems.
