<p>Information on the abundance and spatial distribution of organisms is important to understand their ecological significance and roles in other organisms. Ants have remarkable ecological importance, so the spatial pattern of ants helps us understand the ecological dynamics of the endangered <i>Taxus contorta</i> tree, which will aid in conservation efforts in the future. We sampled ants from two <i>T. contorta</i> patches in a mixed-temperate forest. The collection was performed twice, in October 2020 and 2021 in autumn, using pitfall traps. A total of 1820 individuals, two subfamilies, four genera, and five species were collected. The subfamily Myrmicinae represented 96% of the abundance; although <i>Myrmica</i> spp. had a wide distribution, <i>Aphaenogaster beesoni</i> emerged as the predominant species that were exclusively found in the regenerated <i>T. contorta</i> patch. The overall ant composition patterns differed significantly between and within sites. The distribution also varied within the aspects, as in the northern aspects, and its abundance was higher than that in the southern aspects. The presence of <i>T. contorta</i> is marked only in the northern region; therefore, <i>A. beesoni</i>, which is only distributed in the <i>T. contorta</i> regeneration patch, can influence the regeneration of this endangered tree. In addition, Canonical Correspondence Analysis revealed a significant relationship between the composition of ant communities and factors affecting the spatial distribution of ants, such as air temperature, humidity, canopy, and geographical aspects.</p>
