Green Roads Revolution: Innovating Rubber and Bitumen Production for Sustainable and Durable Infrastructure
摘要
This study investigates the use of recycled waste rubber tire tube crumbs in bituminous pavements, assessing its impact on performance and sustainability. Adding rubber tube waste reduces bitumen needs by 20%, enhances pavement strength, durability, and resistance to deformation. Both laboratory and field studies confirm improved material properties, promoting eco-friendly road construction. The research proposes a flexible pavement design using the Group Index and California Bearing Ratio methods, with the latter showing superior performance. It highlights the positive impact of rubber tube waste on bitumen properties, including penetration, softening point, melting point, and viscosity, advocating for sustainable road construction solutions that extend road life and mitigate environmental impact.
