<p>The digitization of many areas has gained recognition as a way to ensure an organization’s long-term viability. The research adopts the construction industry to explore the effect of Digitalisation process on the long-term viability of different companies in India. Scopus Database led to documents identification to select factors pertaining to the effective adoption of digital transformation processes in the construction sector. Twenty-one factors highlighting employee perceptions were chosen from the literature review and further categorized under different parameters through a qualitative study. The questionnaire data on factors are formed on a Likert Scale (1–5) and sent to engineers, contractors, and subcontractors working on ten construction projects. Out of 162 questionnaires, 139 people have responded. The data were examined using the ”Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM)" method, and results were derived. The study highlights that post-digitalisation may considerably improve the firm’s ability to conserve resources. For the construction sector to fully utilize digital technology, it must concentrate on enhancing its digital competencies. The complete and adequate adoption and application of digital transformation processes and technology may benefit various stakeholders, including decision-makers, government agencies, etc. After digitization, material sourcing shows a substantial improvement. The study highlights the literature on Digitalisation adoption in the construction sector, addresses the key factors, and categorises four aspects responsible for efficient business transformation by SMEs.</p>
