Electromagnetic Performance Analysis of a Novel Hybrid Double-Modulated Magnetic Gear with Transverse Skewed Slotted Magnetic Field Modulation Ring
摘要
Axial flux magnetic gear (AF-MG) and transverse flux magnetic gear (TF-MG) suffer from leakage flux, low torque density and low utilization of permanent magnets. Given the above problems, this paper proposes a novel hybrid double-modulated magnetic gear with a transverse skewed slotted modulator (NHDM-MG). The NHDM-MG modulates the magnetic field transversely and axially through the external transverse skewed slotted modulator and the built-in axial modulator, realizing the hybrid dual modulation of the magnetic field, effectively suppressing the leakage flux of permanent magnets and improving the torque density and utilization rate of permanent magnets. The operating principle of the NHDM-MG is described based on the magnetic field modulation theory. A finite element model of the NHDM-MG was established to analyze the electromagnetic performance of the NHDM-MG and compare the performance with that of the conventional magnetic gear. The results of the study show that NHDM-MG has more performance advantages at the same size. This study can provide a valuable reference for the design of new magnetic gears with high performance.
