Enhanced Step-up DC-DC Converter for Next-Generation Sustainable Energy Application

Due to the rapid transformation from fossil fuel − based energy sources to renewable energy sources, the development of a high step-up DC − DC power conversion is getting more attractive with its wide range of numerous applications. This paper presents the high step-up DC-DC topology with a hybrid switched-inductor and switched-capacitor techniques. The introduced topology gives a simple structure with a single switch and low voltage stress on the switching devices and improvement voltage gain with a small duty cycle. Thus, the overall efficiency of the introduced converter can be improved. Furthermore, the common ground feature of this introduced topology has shaped its potential application. A comprehensive analysis and components design is also formulated and documented in this paper. A detailed comparison study with the conventional switched-inductor switched-capacitor converter is also presented to confirm the effectiveness of the introduced converter. To support its feasibility a rated power of 200 W prototype is carried out by simulation and experimental results.
