Greening the Chain: Shifts Toward Sustainable Supply Practices
摘要
Globally, organization leaders are placing “greening the chain” at a higher prior-ity level as environmental sustainability grows more important in corporate strategy. Throughout this article, we examine Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) history from its base principles through its development into Total Operational Greening (TOG). The fundamental separation between GSCM and TOG exists because GSCM deals exclusively with environmentally sustainable supply chain practices, yet TOG creates sustainability commitments throughout entire organizations. Research analyzes emerging technological tools that support the transition to green supply chains through an assessment of IoT, blockchain, data analytics together with artificial intelligence. The Supply Chain Greening initiative has embraced various technologies to track its performance and to optimize resources. This study conducts a review of these technologies adopted in the green supply chain. This study also conducts a review of the various green supply chain initiatives worldwide to get a better understanding of the policies and regulations across various countries and to develop a collaborative atmosphere.
